Milton’s Largest Energy Efficiency Program Launch
Milton, ON | January 13, 2025 – The Ontario government has announced a historic $10.9 billion investment in energy efficiency programs, designed to help families and businesses in Milton Riding save on energy costs while reducing overall demand.
Launching on January 28, 2025, the Home Renovation Savings Program will offer rebates of up to 30% for energy-efficient home upgrades, including new windows, insulation, heat pumps, and smart thermostats. Later in the year, rebates will expand to include energy-efficient appliances.
“This is the most ambitious initiative of its kind in Canadian history,” said Zee Hamid, MPP for Milton Riding. “It will lower energy bills and put more money back into the pockets of families in our community.”
With a goal to cut peak energy demand by 3,000 MW by 2036, the program is expected to save Ontarians $12.2 billion in electricity costs while supporting businesses through expanded efficiency incentives.
