Ontario Government gives Milton Lawn Bowling Club $64,100
Milton, ON – On Friday, local MPP Zee Hamid met with the team at the Milton Lawn Bowling Club celebrate the impact of a $64,100 Capital grant they received from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The project will fund enhancements to the club and promote community health and inclusion.
“It’s wonderful to see the Milton Lawn Bowling Club continuing to provide a welcoming space for recreation, social connection, and active living in our community," said Zee Hamid, MPP for Milton. I’m excited to see the ongoing success of this historic Milton organization. Congratulations to the Milton Lawn Bowling Club on receiving this well-earned Capital grant.”
The grant funded the installation of a water meter and backflow valve to better comply with Halton Regional Public Works department regulations. This will allow the club to continue its operation in compliance with local regulations, and continue to foster community health and inclusion through the low-impact, accessible sport of Lawn Bowling.
Milton Lawn Bowls has been home to recreation since 1913. Many diverse events in addition to lawn bowling, such as corporate team building and local fundraisers are held at this popular facility. Every year, the manicured greens and lighting allow day and night schedules for social and leisure pursuits, plus competitive leagues and tournaments for over 100 members!
Through valued partners, Milton Lawn Bowling Club continues to offer a fun-filled sport to the community and provide business exposure to hundreds of people which include local members, spectators, visitors and competitors across Ontario and beyond throughout our six-month playing season.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to build healthy and vibrant communities across the province.
