Milton to Receive $125,000 in Provincial Funding for Pumpkins After Dark Festival
Ontario Government Invests Nearly $20 Million to Support Over 350 Festivals and Events Across the Province
Milton, ON – Exciting news for our community and for all Ontarians who cherish the excitement and entertainment of local festivals! The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming has announced an investment of nearly $20 million through the fantastic Experience Ontario 2025 program. This funding will support more than 350 festivals and events across the province, helping to boost local tourism, strengthen economies, and showcase the incredible spirit and hard work of communities across the province.
I am particularly thrilled to share that Milton’s own “Pumpkins After Dark” festival has been selected to receive $125,000 in provincial funding through this provincial initiative. This vibrant and family-friendly Halloween event has become a seasonal favourite for Miltonians looking to embrace the Halloween spirit. I couldn’t be prouder of Pumpkins After Dark– the pumpkin artists and organizers work tirelessly year after year to create a spectacularly immersive experience for attendees. With this new investment, Pumpkins After Dark will be able to grow even further.
Festivals and events supported through Experience Ontario 2025 not only provide excitement and entertainment—they are vital to the well-being of our communities. They create jobs, support tourism, and help local economies thrive. When visitors attend these events, they’re more likely to stay longer, eat at local restaurants, shop at local businesses, and support main street businesses that are the heart of our towns and cities.
Now more than ever, it’s important that we come together to celebrate the different cultures, talents, and stories that make Ontario unique. These true Ontario experiences bring people together, highlight the best our province has to offer, and support the hardworking community members who work tirelessly to host local events.
I encourage everyone to get out this summer and fall and take part in the amazing events happening right in our backyard. Supporting local festivals and businesses can help make Ontario an even better place to live, work and visit!
