Meet Zee

Zee Hamid is the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Milton and currently serves as the Associate Solicitor General for Auto Theft and Bail Reform in Ontario. Previously, he was the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance.

Before his provincial role, Zee dedicated over a decade to municipal politics, serving three terms as a Milton Town Councillor and representing the community on Halton Regional Council. In 2022, he ran for mayor of Milton, narrowly losing by fewer than 1,000 votes.

Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, Zee immigrated to Canada as a teenager. He earned a Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. Prior to his political career, Zee held senior technology roles at major companies, including Microsoft and Amazon, and served as Vice President of Engineering at a Toronto software company.

Beyond politics, Zee is deeply committed to community service. He has volunteered with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton, the Milton Public Library, and Milton Economic Development. He has also served on various boards, including Halton Healthcare and Conservation Halton. ​

Zee resides in Milton with his wife and their blended family of six children.
