Ontario Gives Halton Healthcare $1.6 Million to Help Ease Surgical Backlogs
Milton, ON - Exciting news for Milton: Ontario’s Ministry of Health is providing $1,699,900 in Incremental Surgical Funding to Halton Healthcare. This investment will increase access to care/reduce wait lists/complete additional surgeries including neurosurgeries, orthopedic surgeries such as hip and knee replacements, gynecologic surgeries, cataract surgeries, hernia surgeries, and pediatric surgeries, among others.
This is part of the Ministry of Health’s plan to help clear surgical backlogs across the province. Halton Healthcare Services administer care to residents across the region, including patients at Milton District Hospital.
“Along with the $2.2 million funding for CT Hours, our government is continuing its commitment to expand healthcare in our growing region, increasing access to various surgical procedures, reducing waitlists and providing quality, efficient care,” Milton MPP Zee Hamid says. “This investment will certainly support Milton residents who may be on a wait list or are seeking a surgical procedure.”
